Greetings persistent business addicts!
Are you familiar with the 4 P’s of marketing? If you’re not, they refer to price, product, place (or distribution), and promotion. While this is very handy when developing your small business, experts tend to forget the other 4 P’s… The 4 P’s of Pietila… yeah, I made them up but hopefully they help you anyway. They are Passion, Positivity, Persistence, and Patience. We talked about Passion & Positivity already so now we’ll focus on Persistence!
As you start your business, you have this spectacular vision that you want to share. People aren’t going to want to care. You have to be aware not everyone is as excited about this as you. As a business owner, you need to remind everyone around you about the great things you do… constantly. Your concept isn’t proven yet. The world may be be changed in the future but you haven’t done anything yet. Don’t give up though.
There are people who will believe in your vision immediately. You need to be persistent with them too. Send reminders for them to share the news. Word of mouth is very important as you develop your concepts. You need to also realize that some people will drop off for a while and not respond to you but this doesn’t mean they don’t care. People are busy! Your time is consumed with pursuing your passion and so is theirs. A simple reminder is all you need to keep them engaged. Don’t give up during the challenging times.
